Vor dem Kinder- und Jugendhaus Ostend gibt es einen Hang, der runter zum Parkplatz, zum Marktplatz hinter der Holzingergasse und zum Theater im Depot führt. Zwei Jahre lang war dort das Rutschen auf dem Hosenboden ein beliebter Sport, denn die dort früher vorhandene Treppe war beschädigt und deshalb entfernt worden. Am ersten März-Wochenende endlich konnten Jugendliche und Mitarbeiter einer von der SSB beauftragten Baufirma Hand in Hand an einer neuen Treppe arbeiten. Die SSB hatte 6.000 Euro für Material locker gemacht. Zehn Jungs aus dem Jugendhaus hatten sich beim Aufbau der neuen Treppe engagiert. Der Platz zwischen dem Theater im Depot und dem Jugendhaus wird in vielfältiger Weise genutzt: am 6. Mai findet dort die diesjährige Kinderkunsttour unter dem Motto „Scheibchenweise“ statt, während der Langen Ost Nacht gastiert dort der Zirkus. Nun aber hat die Rutschparty endlich ein Ende!
